Japanese‑Speaking Sales & Marketing Assistant Manager

About the role

This permanent position supports an international supplier of engineering components. You will work closely with the Managing Director, other directors, and the Japanese subsidiary to drive new business and maintain existing accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities and nurture current accounts.
• Achieve sales targets and monitor sales activities, including budget control.
• Supervise and authorise work performed by sales and marketing staff, covering quotes, order processing, and export documentation.
• Manage projects, providing customer and supplier support for product specifications.
• Travel for business trips to suppliers, customers, and defence shows.
• Coordinate with the Managing Director, other directors, and overseas teams, especially in Japan.

Required profile

• Native‑level Japanese with fluent business English (written and spoken).
• Experience in a Japanese trading house is preferred.
• Background in engineering is advantageous.
• Holder of a valid driving licence.
• Responsible character with excellent communication skills.
