Java/React Developer – Hybrid, London

About the role

FDM Group is looking for a Java/React Developer to join a FinTech client’s Asset Servicing Technology team in London. The role is a six‑month contract with the possibility of extension and will be worked on a hybrid basis.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain full‑stack applications using Java and React.
• Build and enhance microservices and RESTful APIs supporting asset‑servicing platforms.
• Create responsive user interfaces with React, TypeScript and modern front‑end frameworks.
• Modernise legacy applications and support cloud‑native transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects and business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, well‑tested code, participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve platform stability, resilience and performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and developing microservices architectures.
• Proven experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front‑end development.
• Experience working with SQL and large‑scale relational databases.
• Familiarity with messaging technologies, Git‑based source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in Agile or SAFe delivery environments.
