About the role
Hawksford is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its Client Accounting Shared Services (CASS) team, primarily supporting clients in Jersey. You will be responsible for bookkeeping, preparation of simple financial statements and management accounts, and quarterly reporting for companies and trusts across various sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and post final bookkeeping entries required for financial statements and management accounts.
- Execute period‑end closing processes, including pre‑payments, accruals, loan and bank transaction postings.
- Produce simple annual financial statements for companies and trusts in accordance with IFRS and UK Accounting Standards.
- Assist with ad‑hoc bookkeeping and accounting projects as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with internal policies and procedures.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Enrolled in or pursuing a professional accounting qualification.
- Prior bookkeeping or financial reporting experience preferred.
- Fluency in English and French (listening, speaking, writing).
- Willingness to work within UK time zones for client meetings.
- Strong organisational, analytical and prioritisation skills.
Required skills
- Viewpoint accounting software (or ability to learn).
- Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP (or ability to learn).
