Junior Data Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a recent graduate to join a forward‑thinking organisation in Newcastle upon Tyne as a Junior Data Analyst. This hybrid role offers the chance to develop technical skills, work with modern BI tools and contribute to real commercial data projects in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Power BI reports and interactive dashboards.
• Write, optimise and validate SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.
• Analyse datasets to uncover trends, patterns and business opportunities.
• Produce regular and ad‑hoc management reports.
• Support data‑quality, cleansing and validation activities.
• Assist with reporting automation and process improvements.
• Translate business requirements into actionable reporting solutions.
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Document reporting processes and maintain data definitions.

Required profile

• Graduate or junior professional with a degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Genuine interest in data, analytics and business intelligence.

Required skills

• Power BI for dashboard and report creation.
• SQL query writing and optimisation.
• Excel proficiency.
• Basic knowledge of DAX and Power Query (desirable).
• Familiarity with Python or other analytical tools (desirable).
