Junior Hub Developer

About the role

We're looking for someone to help grow Ember's network of charging hubs. You'll work alongside existing developers to find sites, navigate legal and planning processes, manage construction and energise the hubs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure suitable sites for new charging hubs, liaising with landlords, commercial agents and local authorities.
• Lead lease negotiations, design reviews, planning applications and power‑connection processes.
• Coordinate with network operators, suppliers and engineers to procure, install and commission charging equipment.
• Maintain on‑site presence throughout construction, addressing practical issues such as layout, utilities and compliance.
• After launch, monitor hub performance and drive continuous improvements across the network.

Required profile

• Curious and quick to learn, comfortable navigating new technical specs, legal terms and planning processes.
• Engineering mindset with a willingness to dive into details such as concrete reinforcement or three‑phase distribution.
• First‑principles thinker who can break problems down to fundamentals.
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple project pipelines and keep communications clear.
• Hands‑on attitude, comfortable meeting landlords, electricians and reviewing contracts.

• Salary £40,000–£50,000 per annum, plus share options.
