Junior Python Developer - Risk Data Services (Business-Facing)

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Python Developer to join the Risk Data Services team within a global investment bank. The role focuses on building and enhancing a data integration platform that supports market and counterparty risk calculations, working closely with risk analysts and product owners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based data processing applications.
• Build data pipelines to ingest, transform, and validate large datasets.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyse requirements and define technical solutions.
• Rapidly prototype new concepts to improve delivery speed.
• Optimise performance and ensure reliability of data integration processes.
• Work with SQL and data‑warehouse technologies.
• Identify issues, debug, and improve system quality.
• Support continuous improvement within an Agile (SAFe) team.

Required profile

• 2+ years of Python development experience.
• Proven ability to work in a business‑facing capacity, gathering requirements and translating them into solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Exposure to financial services, risk, or data platforms is desirable.
