Junior Sales Trader – Japanese Equities

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Sales Trader to join our London office, focusing on Japanese equities. The role supports institutional client coverage and execution, acting as a bridge between clients, internal desks and the Japanese market.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior sales traders in servicing institutional clients such as asset managers and hedge funds.
• Execute client orders in Japanese equities accurately and promptly.
• Monitor market movements, news flow and corporate events affecting Japanese stocks.
• Provide clients with market colour, trade ideas and execution updates.
• Liaise closely with the Tokyo trading desk to ensure smooth order handling and information flow.
• Coordinate with traders across time zones to facilitate overnight and cross‑market activity.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders including research, compliance and operations.
• Support trade reporting, booking and post‑trade processes while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field (preferred).
• Up to 5 years of experience in sales trading, trading or equity‑related roles.
• Strong interest in global equity markets with emphasis on Japanese equities.
• Fluent English; Japanese language skills not required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work effectively across time zones in a fast‑paced environment.
