Kitchen Porter

About the role

Join the hospitality team at Mercure London Bankside as a Kitchen Porter, ensuring the kitchen environment remains clean, safe and efficient. You will support daily operations by maintaining hygiene standards and handling equipment responsibly.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen clean and tidy in line with health and hygiene regulations.
• Count, sort and prepare operating equipment as required.
• Handle chemicals and equipment safely according to manufacturer instructions.
• Clean and store crockery, cutlery, glassware and other operating equipment hygienically.
• Follow cleaning rosters and perform deep cleaning of floors, walls, coolers, ovens and equipment.
• Contribute to cost control through energy conservation and careful use of water, cleaning materials and appliances.
• Collect and dispose of garbage correctly from all kitchen areas each shift.
• Use safe methods for the removal of dry and wet waste.

Required profile

• Ability to follow health and hygiene regulations.
• Capability to handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Reliability for shift work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
