Kitchen Porter

About the role

Searcys is looking for a Kitchen Porter to join the team at the Pegasus Bar and Restaurant, located within the historic Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in London. The role supports daily kitchen operations by ensuring a clean and safe environment, assisting with basic food preparation, and helping the kitchen run smoothly during a variety of events.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, service stations, sinks, countertops and floors.
• Wash, sanitize and store dishes, cutlery, cookware and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with basic food preparation and service tasks as required.
• Manage waste, recycling and follow food safety standards.
• Receive deliveries, unload and store supplies appropriately.
• Organise and replenish kitchen stock to ensure availability.
• Follow cleaning schedules and complete related paperwork.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Basic food preparation techniques.
