KS2 Lead Teacher – Path to Assistant Headteacher

About the role
Reeson Education is supporting an outstanding primary school in Newham, East London, to recruit a KS2 Lead Teacher who will progress to Assistant Headteacher. The role combines high‑quality classroom teaching with strategic leadership of Key Stage 2.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the curriculum design, delivery and assessment for Key Stage 2.
- Mentor and support colleagues, fostering collaborative practice.
- Teach Year 6 (or another KS2 class) while modelling best practice.
- Prepare pupils for end‑of‑key‑stage assessments and monitor progress.
- Work with senior leadership on whole‑school initiatives, CPD planning and data‑driven improvement.
- Take on additional whole‑school responsibilities as part of the progression plan to Assistant Headteacher.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial KS2 experience, preferably including Year 6.
- Proven track record of strong pupil outcomes.
- Confident, inspirational leader with empathy and clarity.
- Commitment to high expectations, continuous improvement and inclusive practice.
