Kubernetes Platform Engineer (London/Paris)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join a global quantitative investment manager. The role will focus on building and operating highly available, secure Kubernetes clusters across cloud and on‑premise environments, supporting mission‑critical workloads for trading and data analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate HA Kubernetes clusters (cloud and on‑premise).
• Provide self‑service platform capabilities such as namespace provisioning and templated jobs.
• Create reusable deployment blueprints using Helm, Kustomize or custom controllers.
• Develop and maintain GitOps workflows with ArgoCD, Flux and GitLab CI.
• Define tenancy‑aware RBAC, network policies and secrets management.
• Apply policy‑as‑code via OPA/Gatekeeper for compliance and multi‑tenancy.
• Implement observability stacks and expose dashboards/APIs for cluster health.
• Support production, staging and development environments and participate in on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and operating Kubernetes clusters at scale.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes internals, CRDs, CNIs and storage provisioning.
• Ability to automate operational tasks and build developer‑friendly tooling.
• Experience supporting application teams through onboarding and deployment pipelines.
• Willingness to participate in incident response and on‑call duties.
