Lead Software Engineer

About the role

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role within a small, cross‑functional team focused on building the next generation of AI capabilities for database administration. You’ll work alongside a Tech Lead, Product Designer, Product Manager and several engineers, with support from senior engineering leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop next‑generation AI interfaces and workflows for database professionals across Redgate’s product suite.
• Shape the team’s engineering practice, ensuring quality, scalability, resilience and security.
• Lead cross‑team initiatives and collaborate with the Architect to define product‑level technical strategy.
• Partner with the Tech Lead and Product Manager to set goals, plan delivery and track progress.
• Maintain a direct line to customer impact, understanding real problems and prioritising work accordingly.

Required profile

• Experience designing, building and operating scalable, resilient, secure software systems.
• Proven track record leading complex engineering work and cross‑team collaboration.
• Proficiency in modern .NET/C#, Python or TypeScript, with deep expertise in at least one.
• Strong communicator able to translate technical decisions for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated commitment to coaching, mentoring and growing other engineers.
