Learning & Development Consultant – Programmes and Growth

About the role

Join Barnardo's as a Learning & Development Consultant to shape career pathways for staff and volunteers who support children and young people. You will design, develop and evolve programmes that enable personal growth, from apprenticeships to senior leadership development.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse workforce needs across the organisation and identify learning opportunities that align with strategic priorities.
• Design and deliver impactful learning solutions, including career pathways, apprenticeship programmes and leadership development.
• Collaborate with internal partners, external providers and stakeholders to ensure learning offers are inclusive, practical and future‑focused.
• Evaluate programme effectiveness using data and feedback, and continuously improve the learning portfolio.
• Support the management of funded learning initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Required profile

• Significant experience designing and delivering learning and development programmes in a complex environment.
• Proven track record of creating and implementing career progression pathways.
• Experience managing apprenticeship or other funded learning programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across large, multi‑disciplinary organisations.
• Ability to use evaluation data to drive continuous improvement.
