About the role
We are seeking a motivated Learning Support Assistant to work with children who have special needs such as ASD and SEMH. This position offers a valuable opportunity for an aspiring child psychologist to gain hands‑on experience alongside qualified therapists in a supportive school environment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students with special educational needs.
- Plan and deliver learning activities tailored to individual abilities, with teacher guidance.
- Encourage development of social skills and support pupils’ personal growth.
- Offer academic and pastoral assistance, helping students manage challenging behaviours.
- Collaborate closely with the school’s Therapy Department and maintain communication with parents.
Required profile
- Passionate about helping children achieve their full potential.
- Ability to build confidence, motivation and robust relationships with students.
- Calm and resilient when faced with stressful or conflict situations.
- Caring, compassionate and an attentive listener.
What we offer
- Competitive daily rate of £93‑£105, dependent on skills and experience.
- Full‑time, 5‑day week (Monday‑Friday) onsite in Woking.
- Excellent on‑site training, continuous professional development and CPD to ensure student safeguarding.
- Opportunity to work alongside qualified Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
