Learning Support Assistant – Primary School (West London)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a mainstream primary school in West London rated "Good" by Ofsted. The role is full‑time, term‑time only, and runs from September 2026 to July 2027 with the possibility of extension or a permanent offer based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Assist classroom teachers with lesson preparation and delivery.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to senior staff.
• Support the implementation of safeguarding policies and behaviour management strategies.
• Participate in staff training and professional development sessions.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year LSA experience in a UK primary school.
• Current safeguarding training completed within the last 12 months.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) with online update service.
• Two professional child‑related references covering the last two years.

Required skills

• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.
• Ability to support pupils with diverse learning needs.
• Effective communication with teachers, pupils and parents.
