Learning Support Assistant – Secondary Schools (Lewisham)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join secondary schools across Lewisham from September 2026. You will work alongside teachers to help pupils achieve their academic, social and emotional potential in KS3, KS4 and KS5 settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
• Assist teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging lessons.
• Support pupils individually or in small groups as needed.
• Promote positive behaviour, confidence and participation.
• Help maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
• Adapt quickly to different schools and classroom settings.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or recent experience working with children (e.g., Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, childcare).
• Positive, patient and supportive approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Flexibility, reliability and willingness to work across various school settings.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
