Learning Support Assistant – SEN (1:1) – Mid Sussex

About the role
The school is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You will work closely with the Headteacher, SENCO and teaching staff to ensure the child receives tailored assistance throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 support in line with the pupil’s EHCP, covering learning, communication and emotional wellbeing.
- Implement personalised strategies and interventions to meet the child’s individual needs.
- Monitor progress, contribute to reviews and produce accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, class teachers and external agencies.
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment that encourages independence and confidence.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
- Understanding of EHCPs and targeted support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
