Lecturer – Hairdressing (Full‑time, Permanent)

About the role

The Bedford College Group is seeking a full‑time Lecturer in Hairdressing to join its Hair and Beauty department. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality teaching, assessment and learner support across Hairdressing and Barbering programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver and assess Hairdressing and Barbering courses in line with awarding‑body standards.
• Provide academic guidance, monitor progress and intervene to support learner achievement.
• Develop schemes of work, learning materials and vocational links such as work experience placements.
• Maintain accurate records, complete course administration and contribute to internal verification processes.
• Uphold health & safety, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion standards.

Required profile

• Level 3 Hairdressing/Barbering qualification and assessor qualification.
• GCSE‑level English and maths (or willingness to achieve).
• Recent industry experience and commitment to ongoing CPD.
• Willingness to work towards a Certificate in Education.
• Experience supporting diverse learners and strong organisational skills.
