Legal Assistant / Conveyancing Assistant - Rural Property

About the role

Napthens LLP, a Tier 1 Legal 500 and Chambers ranked firm and adviser to the National Farmers Union, is looking for a Legal Assistant / Conveyancing Assistant to join its rural team. The role supports specialist lawyers representing the farming and agricultural community. It is office-based, full time, permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at Darwen House, Walker Office Park, Blackburn.

Key responsibilities

• Support the rural team's specialist lawyers on land registry applications and requisitions and first registrations
• Draft SDLT, completion statements and bills
• Use a case management system to close files and use the telephone to update clients
• Send exchange and completion letters

Required profile

• Experience undertaking land registry applications and requisitions and first registrations
• Ability to draft SDLT, completion statements and bills
• Comfortable using a case management system and the telephone to update clients
• Strong legal assistant able to send exchange and completion letters
• Previous work in residential conveyancing, real estate, commercial property or similar areas, or willingness to learn them
• Genuine interest in rural, agriculture and the farming community
