Legal Assistant – Property Finance (London)

About the role

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to join the Property Finance Department of a specialist, partner‑led practice in London. Working closely with the Senior Paralegal, you will provide administrative support on high‑value recovery and litigation matters for institutional lenders.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to internal legal queries and enquiries from team members.
• Calculate redemption statements and assist with the provision of undertakings.
• Prepare DS1 forms, deeds of release and Land Registry discharge documentation.
• Assist with invoice preparation and arrange payments to lender clients and third parties.
• Support fixed charge receiver appointments and related correspondence.
• Assist with consents to lease, title splits, Section 106 agreements and letters of non‑crystallisation.
• Conduct basic AML and compliance checks in line with firm procedures.
• Assist with distribution of surplus sale proceeds following completion or enforcement.
• Maintain accurate file records and support day‑to‑day task management across matters.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in litigation or property work.
• Strong organisational abilities with capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, lender‑focused environment.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to develop technical knowledge.
