Legal Cashier – Mostly Remote with Monthly Office Visits

About the role

This position is for an experienced Legal Cashier who will join a well‑established law firm’s finance team. The role is primarily remote, offering flexibility, with a requirement to attend the London or Colchester office roughly once a month for meetings and training.

Key responsibilities

• Support the cashiering team to meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
• Process CHAPS and BACS payments and handle office account transactions.
• Enter purchase order numbers on client invoices and process supplier invoices for approval and payment.
• Assist the Cashier Supervisor with accounting queries, reporting and ad‑hoc requests.
• Provide cover for colleagues during leave and periods of high workload.
• Contribute to finance projects and operational initiatives, improving efficiency and accuracy.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm.
• Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.
• Highly organised with excellent time‑management and attention to detail.
• Professional communicator comfortable dealing with senior stakeholders.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Partner for Windows legal accounting system.
