About the role

Barclays is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join the Market Platform Solutions (MPS) team supporting the Equity Derivatives business. The role focuses on delivering next‑generation Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) platforms, emphasizing digital client engagement, strategic reporting, and scalable index infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement structured financial products and solutions, including derivatives and structured notes, to meet client needs and optimise market exposure.
• Perform risk analysis and management for structured products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and bank policies.
• Collaborate with traders, risk managers, and technology teams to deliver end‑to‑end technology‑enabled business solutions.
• Lead or contribute to complex assignments, guiding team members and coordinating cross‑functional expertise.

Required profile

• Validated experience within the QIS domain (systematic strategies, index products or platforms).
• Strong quantitative background with a relevant degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics or Finance).
• Proven ability to deliver technology‑enabled solutions from concept to production.
• Excellent communication skills to work across business, quantitative and technology teams and present to senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Practical coding ability in Python.
• SQL proficiency.
• Experience with data platforms, APIs, reporting frameworks or client‑facing digital platforms (highly valued).
