Legal Consultant – Banking & Finance (4-8 PQE) – London

About the role

We are seeking experienced banking and finance lawyers (4‑8 years post‑qualification) to join Peerpoint, the global platform for self‑directed consultant lawyers at Allen & Overy. You will work on six‑month‑plus assignments across leveraged finance, private credit, fund finance and project finance, either within A&O Shearman practice groups or directly with client organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on leveraged finance, private credit, fund finance and project finance transactions.
• Draft and negotiate loan documentation, security agreements and related contracts.
• Collaborate with A&O Shearman teams and client in‑house counsel to deliver high‑quality, commercial‑focused solutions.
• Manage project timelines, coordinate with stakeholders and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Adapt quickly to new environments and maintain strong client relationships throughout the assignment.

Required profile

• 4‑8 years PQE with top‑tier law‑firm experience in banking and finance.
• Preferably recent in‑house experience at a leading financial services institution.
• Strong desire to own your career development and use Peerpoint’s resources proactively.
• Consultant mindset with flexibility, resilience and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Practising certificate (or equivalent) in the relevant jurisdiction.
