Legal Counsel (Asset Management)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Legal Counsel to join a leading global asset management firm’s London office. The role is permanent and hybrid, allowing you to work both from the City office and remotely. You will support a diverse portfolio of contracts and collaborate with legal teams across Paris, Hong Kong and the US.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate Investment Management Agreements (IMAs), ensuring they meet commercial and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and manage other contractual documents such as investment advisory agreements, terms of reference for investment committees, IT contracts and marketing agreements.
• Provide ad‑hoc legal support on multi‑jurisdictional projects and coordinate with global legal colleagues.
• Assist the business with commercial and regulatory issues arising from complex, bespoke transactions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in a law firm, asset manager or broader financial services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and cultures in an international setting.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the capacity to manage your own workload.
• Business‑focused mindset with a solid work ethic.

Required skills

• Experience drafting and negotiating Investment Management Agreements.
• Familiarity with a range of commercial contracts, including IT and marketing agreements.
• Ability to understand and apply multi‑jurisdictional legal principles.
