Legal Counsel – Contracts & Compliance

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing international organisation, is looking for a commercially‑minded Legal Counsel to join its expanding legal team on a permanent basis. Based in London with hybrid/remote flexibility, the role will focus on contracts and compliance across multiple jurisdictions, supporting business growth while managing legal risk.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including client contracts, supplier agreements, NDAs and licensing arrangements.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, monitoring key obligations, renewals and contractual risks.
• Provide legal support during commercial proposals, tender processes and liaise with external counsel where required.
• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of internal compliance policies, covering data protection, anti‑bribery and other regulatory requirements.
• Conduct legal research and advise on commercial and corporate matters.
• Maintain legal documentation, templates and knowledge‑management systems.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to minimise legal risk and support business objectives.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory matters, including data protection and corporate governance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Commercially aware, pragmatic approach to legal risk and highly organised.
