Legal Counsel – EMEA (Pharma)

About the role

Join the global legal team of CSL Seqirus as a Legal Counsel for the EMEA region. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, EMEA, you will provide expert legal support to internal stakeholders and help drive strategic business objectives across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, negotiation and finalisation of standard form contracts for the EMEA region.
• Act as the primary regional interface between global counsels, regional lawyers and business stakeholders to ensure consistent, high‑quality contracting support.
• Support enterprise initiatives such as template generation, harmonisation, process optimisation and contracting innovation.
• Provide general legal advice to commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory and Procurement teams, with a focus on the Liverpool manufacturing facility.
• Advise on employment law matters in collaboration with the Associate General Counsel.
• Work with the Company Secretary and Corporate Governance team on subsidiary management activities.
• Offer pragmatic advice on contract interpretation, regulatory compliance and pharmaceutical‑specific legal issues.
• Collaborate with the Compliance Team on EMEA‑wide compliance initiatives.
• Assist the business in managing disputes and third‑party challenges.

Required profile

• LLB, JD, LLM or equivalent foreign law degree.
• Admission to the bar in the UK or an EU country.
• 2‑4 years of experience in a similar legal role, either in‑house or at a law firm.
• Fluent in English and an additional language (German, French, Spanish or Italian preferred).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment and to prioritise workload.
• Strong business acumen, sound judgement and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
