Legal Counsel

About the role

Jagex is seeking an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer to join its in‑house legal team. This hybrid role combines corporate governance, commercial contract work and regulatory advice within a leading video‑games studio. You will work closely with business teams, contributing to high‑impact projects while helping to keep the company’s legal foundations robust.

Key responsibilities

• Own and support corporate governance activity across the Jagex group, ensuring compliance as the business scales.
• Administer the management incentive plan with the Chief People Officer, managing approvals for new joiners and leavers.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including sponsorship, partnership, licensing and merchandising contracts.
• Support live events and commercial partnerships, handling practical matters such as event visas and immigration.
• Provide commercial, regulatory and corporate advice to internal teams, helping them navigate an evolving regulatory landscape.
• Help shape the future of Jagex’s legal function, including the responsible rollout of legal technology and AI tools.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a qualifying law degree or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience in corporate governance and commercial legal work for a large UK company.
• Experience managing or advising on employee incentive schemes and related approvals.
• Proven track record of drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
