Legal Counsel – Media

About the role

We are looking for a commercially‑focused Legal Counsel to join our London‑based legal team at a leading media organisation. The role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of international commercial matters, providing autonomy and direct interaction with business stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and advise on commercial contracts such as client agreements, technology licences, supplier contracts, data processing agreements, NDAs and talent/influencer agreements.
• Provide legal guidance on intellectual property, advertising regulation, data privacy and AI‑related issues.
• Support client pitches, contract negotiations and new business initiatives.
• Deliver legal and compliance training to internal stakeholders.
• Assist with data‑privacy compliance, dispute management and risk mitigation.
• Develop contract templates and legal guidance materials.
• Collaborate with legal colleagues and business teams across multiple jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with at least one year of post‑qualification experience.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Working knowledge of intellectual property, advertising, privacy and AI regulation is a strong plus.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Fluent English; additional European language skills (especially French or Italian) are advantageous.
