Legal Counsel – Project Finance (9‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join an in‑house legal team on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract, supporting the organisation’s energy and infrastructure investment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal support on structuring, negotiating and executing energy, infrastructure and financing transactions.
• Draft and negotiate finance and project documentation such as facility agreements, power purchase agreements, EPC contracts and O&M agreements.
• Advise on legal, regulatory and commercial risks and deliver practical solutions.
• Support the management of existing investments and loan portfolios, including amendments, waivers and consents.
• Ensure completion of post‑transaction requirements and contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes and governance frameworks.
• Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisers, acting as a trusted legal partner.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in project or infrastructure finance, preferably from an energy or financial services background.
• Available for a 9‑12 month period starting September.
• Experience working in‑house or in private practice.
• Willingness to commute to London and work on a hybrid basis.
