Legal Director – Financial Services Regulation (Partnership Path)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UK law firm to recruit a Legal Director specialising in Financial Services Regulation. The role offers a clear route to partnership for an experienced lawyer who wants to shape and grow a practice while enjoying hybrid working across major UK cities.

Key responsibilities

• Advise FCA‑regulated clients on a full spectrum of regulatory matters, including Consumer Duty, SMCR, MiFID II, and payment services.
• Lead change‑in‑control applications, governance reviews, and regulatory perimeter assessments.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, generating new business and supporting the firm’s growth strategy.
• Collaborate with the senior Financial Services Regulatory Partner to define practice direction and service offerings.

Required profile

• Significant experience in Financial Services Regulation, either in private practice or a top‑tier in‑house team.
• Proven track record advising banks, asset managers, payment institutions or similar FCA‑regulated entities.
• Commercial mindset with strong business‑development capability.
• Ambition to build a practice and pursue partnership, ideally with an existing client network.
