Level 3 Electrician – HMP Grendon Springhill

About the role

We are seeking a fully qualified Level 3 Electrician to join the Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Grendon Springhill, a joint Category B training prison and Category D open prison. You will work in a supportive, family‑like environment, helping to keep the prison’s electrical systems safe and operational.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial electrical installations.
• Diagnose and repair faults, ensuring minimal disruption to prison operations.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and BS7671 standards.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople, including plumbers, carpenters, and cleaners, to support overall facility upkeep.

Required profile

• Fully qualified electrician with a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL).
• BS7671:2018 (18th edition) certification.
• Relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S).
• Minimum two years’ experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and good organisational skills.
