Lifeguard – Pool & Leisure Centre (Kendal)

About the role

GLL is seeking a Lifeguard to join the team at Kendal Leisure Centre. This position combines pool safety supervision with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service in a vibrant community leisure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate regularly across pool areas to supervise swimmers.
• Maintain a clean and safe pool environment, including equipment setup and general upkeep.
• Provide first‑class customer service and handle visitor queries.
• Support the wider team by preparing studios, gyms or sports halls for activities and assisting with centre cleanliness.

Required profile

• Can‑do attitude with a genuine focus on customer service.
• Calm under pressure, responsible and comfortable interacting with diverse visitors.
• Team player with a passion for swimming and leisure activities.

Required skills

• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) – or willingness to obtain it after a swim test.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to pool environments.
