Lift Service Engineer – Manchester

About the role

We are recruiting a Lift Service Engineer to join our Manchester team, covering Salford and Lancashire. You will support customer communications, complement the management team and ensure reliable operation of lift and escalator equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repairs and component replacement, following approved procedures.
• Diagnose and reduce faults on lifts during breakdowns, performing checks on speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature and power supply using company‑issued tools.
• Inspect and adjust escalator installations in line with approved procedures.
• Reinstate lifts after service and complete all required documentation.
• Perform fault‑finding and diagnostic procedures using technical manuals and test equipment to restore equipment to service.

Required profile

• Experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repairs (preferred).
• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 minimum in lift maintenance or equivalent.
• Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi‑brand equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate independently with a flexible approach.
• Strong communication skills with clients, service leaders and inspectors.
• Manual dexterity for repetitive lifting and use of hand and power tools.
