Litigation Associate – Major Injury & Casualty Claims

About the role

DWF LLP is expanding its Major Injury & Casualty claims team in Belfast and seeks a motivated solicitor with litigation experience. The role involves managing a diverse caseload of EL/PL, casualty, disease and personal injury claims from inception to resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of litigated EL/PL, casualty, disease and personal/serious injury claims.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses and liaise with experts.
• Draft and review pleadings, witness statements and settlement agreements.
• Provide strategic legal advice and represent clients in court and settlement negotiations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation, case law and industry trends.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver integrated legal solutions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 1‑4+ years PQE in litigation, preferably EL/PL, casualty, disease or personal injury.
• Strong knowledge of insurance law, civil procedure and litigation processes.
• Proven ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience handling high‑value or complex claims is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
