About the role
The Litigation Counsel will join Nokia’s Global Litigation & Disputes team, reporting to the Global Head of Litigation & Disputes. You will work closely with in‑ and out‑licensing groups on patent matters and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage litigation projects, especially (F)RAND‑related patent disputes in the UK, Germany, the UPC and India.
- Provide expert legal advice on patent litigation, staying current on legal developments and industry trends.
- Develop and implement cost‑efficient strategies to achieve optimal case outcomes.
- Manage outside‑counsel relationships, control spend and budgets.
- Design and maintain case‑management systems and dashboards for stakeholder reporting.
- Build strong relationships with internal business units and external organisations, regulators and legal community members.
- Collaborate with the broader Legal & Compliance team on IP, regulatory and product‑related issues.
Required profile
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales, business fluent in English.
- Minimum 10 years post‑qualification experience in IP litigation, preferably with (F)RAND issues.
- Extensive experience in trials, pre‑trial, post‑trial, appeals, mediations and arbitrations.
- Proven ability to manage disputes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong interest in technology or science and ability to think strategically.
