Litigation & Regulatory Lawyer (2+ PQE) – Fixed Term

About the role

This fixed‑term position is with a nationally recognised UK regulator based in Birmingham. You will join a multidisciplinary investigations team handling high‑profile public interest cases, working alongside experienced lawyers, forensic accountants and legal assistants.

Key responsibilities

• Support complex regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings.
• Manage discrete areas of high‑profile cases and drive investigations forward.
• Review financial, audit and regulatory material and draft legal documents.
• Prepare evidence bundles, assist with disclosure exercises and support tribunal preparation.
• Liaise with external counsel, experts and third‑party providers.
• Conduct legal and policy research related to enforcement matters.
• Assist with case strategy, budgeting and expenditure monitoring.
• Mentor junior colleagues within the team.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales with at least 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in commercial litigation, regulatory law, white‑collar crime or financial litigation.
• Excellent analytical, legal reasoning and communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex matters under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Motivated, resilient and committed to public‑interest regulatory work.
• Willingness to commute to Birmingham for approximately 40% of the time.
