Locum Childcare Lawyer

About the role

Sellick Partnership is supporting a Surrey local authority in hiring an experienced locum Childcare Lawyer to start in August. The position is initially for three months with the possibility of extension, offering a hybrid working pattern that combines occasional court appearances in Guildford, office days in Woking, and remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist legal advice on childcare matters for the local authority.
• Represent the authority in court proceedings as required.
• Attend occasional PLO meetings across Surrey.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with family law regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Childcare Lawyer within a local authority setting.
• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX member with family practice rights.
• Ability to work full‑time hours, with flexibility for a four‑day week if needed.
