Locum Commercial Property Lawyer – Remote, 3‑4 Days/week

About the role

This temporary position offers a qualified commercial property lawyer the chance to work remotely for a well‑regarded council in the Midlands. The role is part‑time, covering three to four days per week, with an initial three‑month term and a strong prospect of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on the sale and purchase of commercial buildings and land for development.
• Draft and negotiate development agreements, option agreements, overage agreements, leases and part‑leases.
• Prepare bespoke transfers of public open space and draft wayleaves and easements across multiple titles.
• Conduct Land Registry searches, produce complex title reports and manage Land Registry applications.
• Complete SDLT returns for client approval.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
• Significant experience handling a broad range of commercial property matters.
• Previous experience working within a local authority is essential.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload independently with minimal supervision.
• Availability to attend the council’s office on the first day for mandatory onboarding.
