Locum Mental Health Social Worker – North London (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Social Worker to join our adult mental health team on a locum basis in North London. This full‑time, hybrid position offers the chance to work alongside NHS professionals and partner agencies while supporting adults with complex mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of adults with complex mental health needs.
• Complete Care Act assessments, reviews and support planning.
• Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest decisions where appropriate.
• Collaborate with NHS colleagues, community mental health teams and partner agencies.
• Carry out safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments.
• Promote recovery, independence and strengths‑based practice.
• Maintain accurate and timely case recordings.

Required profile

• Registration with Social Work England.
• Previous experience within an Adult Mental Health Team.
• Sound knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act.
• Excellent assessment, communication and partnership working skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload in a fast‑paced environment.
