Locum Supervising Social Worker

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join a well‑established independent fostering agency in Somerset on a locum basis. The role offers flexible home working and a manageable caseload of high‑needs foster families. You will be responsible for supervising and supporting these families to ensure the highest standards of care.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee a small caseload of approximately seven high‑needs foster families across Somerset.
• Conduct regular visits and assessments to monitor the wellbeing of children and the performance of foster carers.
• Provide guidance, training and support to foster carers, addressing any concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate case records and produce reports in line with Ofsted requirements.
• Collaborate with agency managers and external partners to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker with experience in fostering.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Full UK driving licence.
