Machine Learning Engineer – Prop Trading Fund

About the role

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join a fast‑growing, tech‑centric prop trading fund based in London. You will work within a collaborative ML team that builds production‑grade models and infrastructure to support rapid‑feedback trading experiments worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain training and inference pipelines that move models from research to production.
• Collaborate with traders and researchers to translate business problems into robust ML solutions.
• Improve research workflows to shorten feedback cycles and increase reproducibility.
• Evaluate and select appropriate modelling approaches, including neural networks, tree‑based ensembles, and hybrid methods.
• Stay current with state‑of‑the‑art techniques by reviewing academic papers and experimenting with new hardware and libraries.

Required profile

• Strong mathematical foundation, comfortable with optimization theory, regularisation, and linear algebra.
• Curious mindset with a passion for continuous learning in machine learning.
• Ability to write clean, organized, and reproducible research code.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with PyTorch.
• Familiarity with Jax or TensorFlow.
• Hands‑on experience building ML training and inference infrastructure.
