Maintenance Engineer – Landfill Gas Equipment

About the role

This permanent position is based in Bristol and supports a leading waste‑management organisation that generates renewable electricity from landfill gas. You will receive full training on landfill‑gas equipment and work across sites in Bristol, Avonmouth, Swansea and Sevenoaks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and balance gas collection analysers, download and interpret data.
• Perform maintenance, fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs on gas collection systems.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance on power‑generation engines and associated equipment.
• Respond to 24‑hour emergency call‑outs on a rotating schedule (approximately one week in six).
• Travel occasionally to sites in South East England and South Wales.

Required profile

• Proven experience working on engines and mechanical equipment.
• Willingness to expand technical knowledge through training in the energy sector.
• Ability to commute to Bristol and travel when required.
• Flexibility to participate in on‑call emergency duties.
