Maintenance Engineer – Night Shift (4 on/4 off)

About the role

We are seeking a permanent Maintenance Engineer to join a forward‑thinking manufacturing team in Swindon on a night‑shift roster (6 pm – 6 am) operating on a 4‑days‑on/4‑days‑off pattern. You will keep critical machinery running smoothly, ensuring production continuity while enjoying a balanced lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out regular inspections of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment.
• Develop and follow preventive‑maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns quickly and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance actions, repairs and upgrades.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve machine reliability.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety and operational standards.

Required profile

• Solid experience in mechanical engineering and plant maintenance.
• Proven ability to diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude.
• Willingness to work night shifts on a rotating 4‑on/4‑off schedule.
