Maintenance Engineer / Storesperson

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a fast‑moving FMCG manufacturing site in South East England. The role combines mechanical and electrical maintenance duties with responsibility for the on‑site stores, supporting high‑speed production lines and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault‑finding and planned preventative maintenance on automated and semi‑automated production machinery.
• Ensure maximum equipment uptime and efficiency in a fast‑paced factory environment.
• Oversee the stores function and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Utilise CMMS systems to schedule, record and analyse maintenance activities.
• Contribute to reducing downtime, improving reliability and supporting overall production performance.

Required profile

• Electrical maintenance experience within an industrial or FMCG setting.
• Mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with pre‑planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
• Ability to work a standard Monday‑to‑Friday day shift.
• Experience with relays, sensors, drives, contactors and both single‑ and three‑phase systems.

Required skills

• Electrical maintenance (relays, sensors, drives, contactors, single‑phase, three‑phase).
• Mechanical fault‑finding.
• CMMS system usage.
• Preventive and breakdown maintenance techniques.
• Knowledge of automated production machinery.
