Maintenance Technician – 2 Shift (Early & Afternoon)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to join our production team in Cardiff on a two‑shift pattern (early and afternoon). You will be responsible for keeping plant equipment operating at peak performance, ensuring safety and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine and preventive maintenance on all production machinery.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, process changeovers, safety actions and machine set‑ups.
• Participate in equipment installations, qualifications, risk assessments, PUWER and LOTO procedures.
• Work closely with process engineering to monitor equipment performance and drive improvements.

Required profile

• Apprenticeship or equivalent formal qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC or BTEC) in production maintenance, manufacturing, electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Demonstrated mechanical maintenance experience and the ability to work under time pressure.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and on‑time delivery.

Required skills

• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Mitsubishi).
• Mechanical maintenance competence.
• Electrical maintenance knowledge.
