Maintenance Technician / Building Technician

About the role

We are looking for a mechanically‑focused engineer/technician to join a world‑renowned research organisation as the go‑to specialist for critical building services. You will be trained on BMS systems and work on chilled water and compressed air plant supporting cutting‑edge research facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and fault‑find process chilled water and compressed air systems.
• Work on associated pipework, valves, regulators and carry out system modifications.
• Monitor performance, implement safe fixes and continuous improvements.
• Supervise specialist contractors and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate compliance records, including F‑Gas register support.

Required profile

• Qualified engineer with experience in mechanical plant, air compressors, pipework or refrigeration.
• Confident fault diagnosis and comfortable supervising contractors.
• Strong IT and record‑keeping skills with a professional stakeholder approach.
• F‑Gas qualification and a clean driving licence are advantageous.
