Maintenance Technician

About the role

Arxada is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Huddersfield manufacturing site. The role is hands‑on and focused on ensuring equipment reliability, supporting safe operations and minimising downtime across the facility. You will work closely with engineering, operations and external partners to deliver high‑quality maintenance and plant inspections.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs and provide reactive maintenance support.
• Plan, execute and continuously improve the preventative maintenance schedule using the site’s CMMS.
• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance tasks and technical engineering activities.
• Support alarm and trip systems and contribute to vessel inspection programmes.
• Coordinate and oversee external contractors such as lift engineers, gas detection specialists and industrial door technicians.
• Provide basic training to production staff on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required.
• Assist with small to medium engineering projects.

Required profile

• Time‑served electrician with mechanical experience.
• HNC qualification or equivalent in an electrical discipline.
• City & Guilds BS 7671 (18th Edition) certification.
• Certificate in Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to provide occasional out‑of‑hours support.
