Maître D' – Full‑time Front‑of‑House Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maître D' to be the first point of contact for guests at the Michelin‑starred HIDE restaurant. You will create a welcoming atmosphere, circulate among diners, and ensure every guest enjoys a flawless dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the cloakroom and handle guest belongings with discretion.
• Act as a floating manager during service, engaging with guests, monitoring satisfaction, and anticipating needs.
• Build lasting relationships with VIP and regular guests, remembering preferences.
• Support the management team by checking guest satisfaction and escalating concerns.
• Handle complaints diplomatically and ensure prompt resolution.
• Print and prepare daily menus, service reports, and guest lists.
• Manage reservations and guest communications via the 7Rooms system.
• Process payments, deposits, and secure payment links.
• Oversee point‑of‑sale transactions using the Horizon POS system.
• Answer telephone calls and emails professionally.
• Maintain in‑depth knowledge of the menu, beverages, and pairings.
• Assist with opening and closing duties to keep the restaurant guest‑ready.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Maître D’, Head Host/Hostess, or senior front‑of‑house role in a Michelin‑starred or luxury dining environment.
• Impeccable grooming and presentation standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse clientele.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the 7Rooms reservation system.
• Experience using the Horizon POS system.
