Management Accountant – Food Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Management Accountant to join a leading food manufacturing business in Gloucester. The role will deliver accurate monthly accounts, insightful performance analysis and act as a finance partner to the site leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, pre‑payments and fixed asset schedules.
• Manage the month‑end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and data is accurate.
• Produce reporting packs with commentary on variances, risks and opportunities.
• Partner with operational and supply‑chain teams, presenting financial results in clear, non‑technical language.
• Support capital‑expenditure proposals and ensure financial robustness.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and perform regular control account reconciliations.
• Liaise with external auditors to deliver year‑end accounts.
• Provide training to a trainee accountant and act as the SAP finance key user.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA accountant.
• Experience in FMCG or food & drink manufacturing is desirable.
• Strong management accounting background with month‑end close, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SAP Business One (or similar ERP/MRP system).
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis.
• Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA credential.
