Management Accountant - HSCP Finance

About the role

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a highly motivated Management Accountant to join its Finance Team. You will give expert financial advice, analysis and support to senior managers and clinical services, helping resources be used effectively to deliver high-quality patient care. The role is full-time and permanent, based at Commonwealth House; the working pattern is to be confirmed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial management advice and support to budget holders and senior stakeholders
• Lead financial planning, budget setting, monitoring and forecasting across designated service areas
• Produce accurate, timely financial reports, including variance analysis and performance information
• Analyse complex financial data and recommend actions for strategic and operational decisions
• Support business cases, service redesigns and investment proposals
• Build relationships with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues
• Contribute to financial systems, processes and governance, and continuous improvement

Required profile

• Professional accountancy qualification from a recognised CCAB body or equivalent knowledge, experience and expertise
• Significant experience in a large, complex organisation, including a senior management accounting role
• In-depth knowledge of financial management, budgetary control and financial reporting
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and meet demanding deadlines

Required skills

• Excellent analytical skills and strong communication and influencing skills
• Advanced IT skills, including financial systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
